About Single Truck Insurance

An independent site that explains insurance for owner-operators running a single truck, written from federal rules, state rules and insurers' own documents.

Why this site exists

Most pages about truck insurance are written by agencies that want your quote request. They are not wrong to want it, but the result is a lot of pages that blur the line between what the law requires, what a contract requires, and what an agent would like to sell you. We keep those three apart, and we write for the owner-operator with one truck rather than for a fleet manager.

Who we are

Guides are written and checked by the Single Truck Insurance editorial desk, and signed collectively. We are not licensed insurance agents and we do not give legal or insurance advice. When a decision depends on your policy wording, your lease or your state's rules, we say so and point you to the person or the official page that can answer.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell insurance, collect quote requests or pass your details to agents.
  • We do not accept payment to mention or rank an insurer.
  • We do not publish average prices we cannot source. Where a figure comes from a third party, we name it and its date.

Our method is described on how we research. To report an error, write to contact@singletruckinsurance.com.
